FIRST, see you paste these 54 little squares on to the 54 squares of the Rubik's Cube.  When you do it right, it should like your program 2.  Six undefiled images.

ONCE that's done, THEN you have to worry about rotating the sides.

How many stickers does rotating a side affect? 21:  9 on the side you're rotating.  And another 12 around the edge of that side.
